Child-Proofing Your House:

1.    Don’t use tinsel for the Christmas tree. Tinsel is a choking hazard for young children and pets.  They are shiny and are just begging to get grabbed in put into little mouths.

2.    Any ornaments that have sharp edges or are breakable should be hung out of the child’s reach.

3.    Like any breakable ornaments we should also be mindful to keep Christmas lights high on the tree.

4.    If you plan to use a real Christmas tree this year, make sure you sweep or vacuum often around the tree to keep the needles off the floor.  You don’t want your child or pet to snack on these.

5.    Test your tree stand and make sure your tree won’t topple over with a small tug.

6     If your child is not staying away from the tree, try blocking the entrance of the room with a baby gate.

7.    Holly and poinsettias should be kept out of reach since they are slightly poisonous

8.    The snow globe collection is not a toy. Please, make sure that snow globes are out of reach of your children
